Leighann Brokaw specializes in Special Effects Makeup for Film, TV, and theater.  She is also a licensed cosmetologist and trained in all aspects of beauty makeup.

Leighann has always had an interest in special effects makeup, even as a young child.  When she was younger she would create black eyes and scratches going around tricking the other children in her neighborhood.  Later as she entered high school she got involved in video production, helping make amature horror films at the young age of 15.  Her interest continued to grow as she engulfed herself into books and studying special effects on film.  She would convince boyfriends, parents and friends to pose as she practiced her special effects makeup.  For years her Christmas list has been riddled with requests for more special effects kits, makeup brushes and other items to help pursue her passion. 

When faced with the question what major she wanted to pursue, she had no doubt in her mind that she wanted to pursue technical theater.  While attending classes, Leighann partook in an independent study involving theater and special effects makeup.  She also helped out in the school productions and continued to help her peers create illusions in their amature horror flicks. 

Immediatly upon graduating with an associate degree Leighann enrolled in cosmotology school and passed with flying colors.  She has worked on several short films and a few commercials. 

She continues to seek out film work while continuing a job her management position at a local salon and practices honing in her special effects skills.  She hopes to continuing learning by attending workshops and getting more hands on production opportunities.
